RPA Canada, Algoma University, and Visionary Education Group China met in North York to explore the possibility of collaboration in opening doors for Chinese students in accounting education and Canadian accounting designation RPA. The potential collaboration will extend beyond borders with the inclusion of Visionary Education Group from China, which is running several colleges and high schools in China and Canada. Their expertise in educational innovation and cross-cultural exchange will add a global perspective to the partnership, enriching the educational experience with diverse insights and approaches. This global collaboration not only broadened horizons but also promoted a spirit of cooperation and mutual learning transcending global boundaries.

On February 27, 2024, a significant meeting took place between key figures in academia and industry, signaling the beginning of an exciting collaboration. Zubair Choudhry, RPA, APA, President & CEO of RPA Canada; Mike Saniga, CPA, MBA, Director of Engagement and Learning Innovations; met with Algoma University’s esteemed representatives, Jo-Anne Ryan, PhD., CPA, Chair of the Accounting Department, and William Wei, PhD, Dean & Professor of the Faculty of Business & Economics. This gathering was made even more enriching by the presence of Pauline Zhou, Executive Director of Visionary Education Group from China, hinting at the potential for a three-way partnership.

The aim is to enhance educational standards by combining RPA Canada’s advanced prerequisite courses with Algoma University’s strong academic foundation for Chinese accounting students. This collaboration promised not only to enhance the learning experience but also to bolster the trade, investment, and business relationship between Canada and China.
