RPA Canada, announced today the launch of a ground-breaking scholarship program exclusively for Zambian female accountants and students, dedicated to empowering and supporting the next generation of female leaders. This scholarship program reflects the commitment of RPA Canada to fostering gender equality, inclusivity, and the advancement of women in education and beyond.

“Women are the backbone of our community. Society will benefit hugely by deeper and wider participation by women in all spheres of human endeavor. We must do everything to help educate women where opportunities are not easily available. There is no greater pillar of stability than a strong, free, and educated woman. RPA Canada-ZiCA Scholarship will help female accountants of Zambia to have a much better opportunity to be professionally employed, which benefits the society and the economy.” – Zubair Choudhry, President & CEO of The Society of Professional Accountants of Canada.

“Gender equality is a precondition for advancing development and reducing poverty in Zambia. We are extremely proud to have signed a Mutual Recognition Agreement with RPA Canada and it is our desire that we will empower women in the accountancy profession to excel in this amazing profession and contribute favorably to sustainable economic development.” – ZICA President Mrs. Cecilia Zimba.

The Society of Professional Accountants of Canada (RPA Canada) and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zambia (ZiCA) had signed a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) on May 17, 2022. In this agreement, both organizations agreed to cooperate and collaborate in promoting the accounting designation. As a part of the agreement, RPA Canada had committed to offering scholarships to enable ZiCA students and CA designation holders to obtain the RPA designation.
The purpose of this scholarship is to empower the deserving and promising female accounting students or ZiCA members by offering them Canada’s premier accounting designation, RPA, at no cost.

“We invite exceptional female students to apply for this esteemed RPA Canada–ZiCA Scholarship program and take a significant step towards their academic and leadership aspirations. Together, we can create a brighter future where women’s voices and contributions are celebrated and valued,” added Choudhry.
